7 Micro Trends For Fall That Could Become Huge!

Micro Trend

Being able to write about fashion has been both a blessing and a curse for me. On the one hand, I’m learning so much and gaining an unprecedented appreciation for fashion, on the other hand I cannot help but obsess about the gaping holes in my own closet. That being said, monitoring trends has become a fixation of sorts and an enjoyable one at that! We’ve covered most of fall’s and winter’s major trends but guess what? This is not the end of it! Every few weeks there will emerge certain micro trends that could either make it big, or become like the much-needed frosting on your cake. Read below to find out which micro trends have caught our eyes lately.

1 || Printed Turtlenecks

Turtlenecks are back in case you haven’t noticed yet, however, an interesting iteration on the turtleneck has been seen on the streets and it’s the printed one. The printed version can be defined by its thin materials and statement prints and can be worn under dresses, or tucked inside your jeans or skirt…the options are countless.

2 || Massive Bags

This is probably a trend that is in answer to the frustratingly small micro-bags trend; massive bags were seen A LOT! Supersized shoppers, huge totes, and big quilted clutches are just a breath of fresh air aren’t they!

3 || Tucked-In Blazers

Not sure how I feel about this one but this is definitely a thing! Seen on influencers and on the streets outside fashion weeks, blazers were comfortably tucked into pants and skirts and the effect was …well …not bad at all! Perhaps this is the antidote for the oversized blazer trend …who knows!

4 || The Flannel Shacket

We’ve written a whole article on this trend; but this micro trend is flannel-specific. Hugely reminiscent of the 90’s I distinctly remember a certain blue and white flannel shirt that I used to wear over a white tee and jeans. This time around though, this trend is slightly elevated in style and is considered more chic than casual. Worn on its own or as a jacket this trend might make it big.

5 || Leather Blazers

Okay not so much a micro trend anymore; leather blazers are the IN thing right now, perhaps along with leather everythang! Wear them in classic black or any other color for that matter, this will probably replace your favourite leather motto jacket for the time being.

6 || Mismatched Shoes

I cannot determine how I feel about this one, it reminds me of a certain high school teacher who actually came to school in mismatched shoes! Perhaps little did she know that her little mishap will become trendy in a couple of …ahem …decades. Some brands already did the work for you…thank you Céline but if you really want to give this one a go look for a friend who has your shoe size and share!

7 || Pleated Midi Skirts

An absolute favourite of mine; I think I own one in every color!! Thankfully – for me – this trend is still going strong and it belongs to the latest bourgeois trend that’s on the rise. These are both trendy and timeless, and the latest take on these skirts is more defined by asymmetric hemlines and a neutral color palette but don’t let us confine you.
