Welcome to fall; the season that offers us a plethora of styling opportunities that are made possible by layering. And speaking of which, we would now like to introduce you to a new clothing item which made its debut this fall. The Shacket! You may have guessed it, the shacket is a hybrid item that combines the characteristics of a jacket and a shirt, basically the “shirt jacket trend”. The shacket is considered THE perfect layering piece to use this fall before the temperatures really dip down. This is the better alternative to a denim jacket as it comes in warmer fabrics such as suede, fleece, corduroy, flannel, and most recently in glossy leather!
If you find yourself getting slightly confused, think of a shacket as a classic or a “slightly boxier” button-up shirt. It should be thick enough to count as a jacket, yet it’s built like an open oxford. And even though the shacket is worn during transitional weather, there is no rule that says you cannot wear it underneath a structured full-length coat considering the volume of course. The shacket is surprisingly very easy to style and can be dressed up or down depending on the fabric you choose. For styling and shopping ideas check out our selection below.
