Despite the fact that a good portion of 2020 was spent in quarantine, and many of the trends that were anticipated for 2020 found no proper place for themselves come summer but that doesn’t mean that we cannot take the chance to actually stock up on the wardrobe staples every woman would need. cKeep in mind however, the times have changed and you should expect to add a few more ‘trendy’ items to your classics list…leather pants for example. You should approach this with a new mentality, it’s not about ‘in with the old and out with the new’, in fact now it’s all about adding the new contemporary classics to your wardrobe …. so here they are…
1 || White Button Down
No wardrobe can do without one. Pair it with every piece of clothing under the sun and you can’t go wrong with it.
2 || The Paper Clip Chain
Chains have become timeless especially if they’re paper clip thin. Layer them with others or wear them on their own.
3 || Oversized Blazers
The oversized blazer in a neutral color is here to stay. Layer it over your jeans, skirts, leather pants, dresses…. you name it.
4 || Leather Anything
Yes leather is no longer reserved for the colder months. Not only that, but every clothing item has been done in leather and in coloured leather no less. They’re just effortlessly cool.
5 || Gold Hoops
Gold hoop earrings are a jewelry staple that can turn any outfit around. They can be dressed up or down; big or small, plain gold, studded or diamond encrusted they are one effortlessly timeless peace of jewelry.
6 || Black Slip Dress
The black slip dress is considered among the best transitional wardrobe items around; wear it on its own, with a t-shirt, or throw a cardigan or a blazer over it …. wear it with sneakers, heels or combat boots….pile on the gold chains or the shell jewelry…. this is a piece that you can easily wear one time too many.
7 || White Sneakers
8 || Relaxed Black T-shirt
I always tried to cut down on my black outfits during the summer but boy was I wrong. A relaxed fit black t-shirt is a summer staple that does it all.
9 || The Trench
That’s another clothing item I always resisted but it is THE wardrobe staple to own. A perfect transitional piece that can take you fall to winter and winter to spring. And they’re super chic as well!
10 || The Cashmere Knit
Cashmere knit sweaters are great layering pieces for winter as well as being cool and comfy on their own so keep the around.
11 || Black Combats
Can’t tell you how happy I am with this entry that’s why I saved the best for last. This 90’s trend has thankfully become a classic winter piece that no winter wardrobe, or summer if you like….is complete without.
