To Buy or Not To Buy

To Buy or Not To Buy

I stare. I admire. I dream.
For a while, I am completely unaware of what I am doing. I finally snap out of the trance only to realise that I am holding in my hands the very shoe I admired online for hours on end. With a credit card that has almost reached its limit, I need to drag myself back to reality. Can I live without this pair? Will my life be the same without them? Can I face another day knowing they are not in my possession?
As much as I would love to own these multi-coloured snakeskin stilettos, chances are that I’m not going to get a lot of wear out of them. In fact, my ombré Sergio Rossi stilettos are still sitting in the same corner of the same shelf since the day they came home with me. Ten years ago, I would’ve been able to wear them all the time as it was a rare night that I wasn’t out until the early hours having a crazy time.

To Buy or Not To Buy

Now, after two kids and thirty pounds, I’ve found that any silver pair of flat sandals ends up being on my feet for the main part of the summer. Why? Because they’re comfortable but effortlessly cool. They also go with absolutely any outfit regardless of color or fit, so I can just pull them on blindly when I’m in a rush (and I’m always in a rush!)

To Buy or Not To Buy

Don’t get me wrong; I love taking out those Rossi’s and secretly (shhhhhh!) stroking them every now and then. But every day that I find myself wearing the same silver sandals again and again, I wish I had bought just one more pair (instead of those freakin’ stilettos).
