Why Celebrities Over 40 Wear These 5 Colors On Repeat!

Jennifer Lopez

IF you were to be asked about who the chicest celebrities in your opinion are, I’m 100% sure that most of the celebrities topping your list will be over 40! Think Jennifer Lopez, Amal Clooney, and Jennifer Anniston! Aside from the fact that they keep themselves in top shape and form, there’s another little secret all these celebrities in question know but little do they share. Celebrities over 40 have had ample time to sharpen their sense of style and by now they’ve probably figured out what suits them and what doesn’t. Think closely and you will begin to notice that Jennifer Lopez, for example, always goes for the same colors, as do most other celebrities. Don’t get me wrong; they don’t adopt one color scheme, they actually rotate between a few shades that they know will make them look and feel young and fabulous.

Of course, it goes without saying that if you’re a woman over 40, or any other age for that matter, you shouldn’t restrict yourself to the colors we are about to share with you; you are bound to look fabulous in any color that gives you joy and confidence. But, there is no harm in learning a few tricks from uber stylish celebrities who have managed to look much younger by adopting the colors below. So what are these highly secretive colors? Relax, we’re not reinventing the wheel here, we’re simply putting a few colors into a better perspective…the youthful perspective to be more precise!

1 || Cream

Apart from the fact that cream and off-white shades are having a moment right now, they are also highly forgiving colors! Pure white can be too intense at times, highlighting things we’d rather keep under cover of some sorts. Shades of cream and off-white can look great on everyone; warm or cool complexions combined.

2 || Alternatives To Black

Amal Cloony

Celebrity stylists believe that black, just like pure white, can be too harsh against mature skin and be the antithesis of youthfulness. Instead of black, aim to experiment with other deeper colors such as charcoal and navy. You don’t have to completely give up on wearing black but once you’ve incorporated other dark colors into your wardrobe you may gradually give it up … or not. You be the judge of that!

3 || Periwinkle Blue

This delicious medium blue that has a touch of purple in it is another color that looks amazing on everyone especially mature women. It is believed that skin tone cools with age hence making this an especially beautiful color to adopt.

4 || Red-Violet

Contrary to popular belief, if you’re over 40 you shouldn’t be expected to tone down your colors. When considering shades of pink or red, the deeper the better. Think fuchsia, raspberry, magenta and deep reds.

5 || Turquoise

Celebrities Over 40

This universally-flattering color is quite famous for good reason. When you find your own perfect shade of turquoise, it will bring out the rosiness in your lips and cheeks. To find your true match, simple match the turquoise color to the color of your veins on your wrists. They could lean towards the blue or the green, determine which and look for a similar turquoise hue to wear.
