Letting go is not an easy thing to do, but staying stuck in the past and its negative experiences will bring us nothing but suffering and great distress. Living in the now and in the present moment is what makes us evolve and move forward in life. We should use our past experiences to learn from and move on, not to dwell on and relive on daily basis.
Obviously to remain stuck in the past, we have to actually shift our consciousness and perception to days gone by. In other words, to let go of the past, we must turn our attention to the present moment so that we can fully enjoy life and all it has to offer us. Living in the past will only bring feelings of frustration about how things used to be, or those of sadness about past unfortunate events we’ve been through.
If we find ourselves traveling back in time often, we probably have some unfinished business there. We should ask ourselves if we have learned all the lessons we can from the past, or if we have more to uncover from our experiences. Many times, we revisit the past because it has something left to teach us that we may not have learned before.
Many people live in the past simply because they haven’t learned all they could from it. The past offers powerful lessons if we feel ready to receive them. Life will continue to send us the same teachers until we have mastered the lesson, so maybe we aren’t actually living in the past – maybe we just keep seeing the same situations repeating themselves because we haven’t completed the lesson yet. Hmmm! Have you thought of it this way before?
How do you feel about your past? Do you feel it helped you along your journey, or do you feel trapped, damaged, and weathered by your experiences? Everything in life is about perception and perspective. Maybe you just need to shift your thinking about the past in order to move on from it.
Letting go of the past will create space for better things to come your way, and will allow you to focus on the present moment, so that the future will have its doors wide open with all the blessings that are in store for you.
Go ahead, take a deep breath, release, let go, and live your well deserved wonderful life!
Namaste my loves!
