Gucci has brought the infamous Jackie bag back! Debuted at Milan fashion week 2020. Creative Director Alessandro Michele dug into the brand’s archives and surprised audiences with Gucci’s iconic throwback shape, showcased in a variety of colours and patterns from creams, lilacs and powder blues to their branded statement print. All the upgraded styles come in a range of shapes and sizes as well, with either top handles or adjustable shoulder strap versions to choose from
Some fashion critics noted the overall toned-down, calmer finish to the bags when compared against Michele’s previous collections and direction, with minimal branding and a soft, sleek finish, though they still maintain their classic vintage aesthetic and grand appeal.
Michele described the whole Gucci Hub show as “a magic event bursting with enchantment”. In addition to the return of the Jackie O (dubbed since ex-First Lady Mrs Kennedy first made it famous back in the ‘60s), Gucci put a spin on a brand new, but familiar, hobo silhouette. Gucci’s ‘50s Horsebit Hobo is here to stay, especially come fall 2020.
