It is not often that I write about establishments; preferring to unearth the passionate soul of a brand by exploring the people behind it. It’s truly uncanny that in the creative world in which we reside, we still need to dig for true essence, under layers and layers of branding, marketing and advertising. Which is why I was so curious about Kinzzi ; a Dubai-based curated marketplace for fashion, lifestyle and so much more. Birthed by Dana Jaber and Rasha Abdelhadi, Kinzzi aspires and inspires to bring the creative soul back to the surface of our shopping experience. After all, it’s in their name, Kinzzi, the Arabic word for ‘my treasure’.
As I virtually stroll through Kinzzi’s thoroughly modern website I always feel joyful; a sense of camaraderie, community and most importantly excellence is infused in every pixel. A sentiment I have often shared in cringeworthy fashion, with Dana and Rasha on IG messenger. The thing is though.. as we aimlessly surf the web for hours it is not often that we come across inspirational content that speaks to us.
Although Dana and Rasha had known each other for years, it was a serendipitous coffee morning almost 20 years after their first meeting that brought Kinzzi to life. Their mutual desire to showcase the hidden talent in the world, and their shared love of all things interiors, fashion, art and design culminated in Kinzzi; a collective space and curated marketplace for independent brands, unique finds and one-of-a-kind products that could be easily accessible to a like-minded, stylish yet ethically and environmentally conscious community.
The thing is.. this is not an unusual concept, in fact it features all the decade’s buzzwords: community, marketplace, independent and ethical. It is the way in which Kinzzi is built that distinguishes and differentiates it from other such sites. Kinzzi is a powerhouse of creativity and innovation, their genuine desire to share unique brands and independent designers is matched to their incredible drive as entrepreneurs. The result is a bustling marketplace, alive with a multitude of International talents from the farthest corners of the world, merchandised to perfection under the watchful eye of both Rasha and Dana. There is an incredible synergy that is created by these two very different goals; goodness and business.. There is no compromise, and that is where the difference lies. Oftentimes one comes at the expense of the other, with companies skimping perhaps on truly great, little-known brands in lieu of a few extra dollars, the opposite is also true, with beautiful brands debilitated by inflated artisanal price points, stunted collections and unpredictable delivery times.

Rasha and Dana have an experienced and discerning eye that can instantly identify the great from the good. Rasha and Dana’s experiences different, anchored by their common vision, they each bring something different to the table. Dana Jaber is the founder and creative force behind jewelry brand Tiba, of which Rasha is now partner. Rasha’s journey has been steeped in retail from an early age, her mother’s progressive vision as an entrepreneur paved the way for Rasha’s own ambitions. Together with her partner, Rasha introduced the UAE to two blockbuster companies of the interior design world, The Rug Company and Andrew Martin. Working with such acclaimed names certainly raised the bar on her own aspirations for Kinzzi.
For the pair of creative entrepreneurs and founders of Kinzzi, the philosophy of the company revolves around their appreciation for creative culture and the stories behind each and every item and brand featured on the Kinzzi site.
