Anna Wintour has partnered with sneaker giant Nike in a limited edition Air Jordan’s collaboration. It is the first women’s designer collaboration of Air Jordans.
The collaboration was introduced with a Vogue video featuring the iconic editor-in-chief wearing the sneakers themselves. The Vogue x Nike AWOK Air Jordans will be stamped on the tongue and sole with Anna Wintour’s well-known sign off ‘Anna Wintour Ok’, typically used to approve Vogue print page drafts.
The zip-ups come in either red or white leather and include an ‘edited by Vogue’ Nike Air tag. The Air Jordan 1 will drop on July 21 and 22 at select stores and via the App respectively.
The Air Jordan 3 SE, a tweed accented version of the sneakers will drop on September 7th, 2018.
Strategically, this partnership aims to feed off each other’s loyal fan base. With Nike attracting more women and Vogue more streetwear-minded fashion followers.
