There have been three Kylie stories floating around this past week, only one is of serious interest to us, and that is how well Kylie Cosmetics have done since their launch 18 months ago. The other two stories involve her Kylie’s 20th birthday celebration and her newly launched and possibly short-lived reality TV show ‘The Life of Kylie’.
Back to business, Kylie Cosmetics has ranked in an incredible $420 million in retail sales in the past 18 months. The company is expected to increase in sales by 25% in 2017, raising sales for the year to an $386 million. To put things into perspective it took Tom Ford Beauty a decade to reach the $500 million earmark.
The reality tv celebrity, who is chief of everything at Kylie Cosmetics including Chief Executive Officer, Chief Marketing Officer and Chief Creative Officer started the brand unofficially in 2015 with the launch of the Kylie Lip Kit, as $29 lipstick and lip liner. So popular was the launch that it broke the internet, selling out instantly. Surprisingly the products are still in high demand although her young audience have a reputation for being flaky.
