Almost a year after the grand announcement of Beyonce and Adidas’s multi-year partnership, Queen Bey finally steps foot into the sneaker market.
Delving into the footwear territory is a natural progression following Beyonce’s successful sportswear brand IVY PARK, which was launched in 2016 alongside Topshop. A full line of coveted chic athleisure that sold like hot cakes..
Thanks to this new venture with Adidas launching on Jan. 18, IVY PARK has a home that will improve its production of clothes, quality control and overall output. Most importantly, it gives Beyoncé an opportunity to have direct influence within the sneaker community. Beyoncé was also named a creative partner with the brand, giving her the opportunity to design outside the IVY PARK collaboration.
Four different sneakers are introduced in this upcoming collection.
The Ultra Boosts, two color-ways of the Nite Jogger, and the Sambarose designed by Beyoncé. All of the sneakers feature the IVY PARK logo and a maroon, solar orange, and cream color palette used throughout the new line. Beyoncé creatively deconstructs the classic Samba silhouette with this first of three sneakers to drop from the line. The updated model features a leather body with light gray suede toe caps placed atop a thick platform gum sole.
IVY PARK is arguably the most exciting set of releases from adidas yet, possibly growing to sub-label size in the vein of Stella McCartney or Yohji Yamamoto and Kanye himself.
