Skirts are a big hit this fall, slipping into the shoes of last year’s pantsuit, creating a more versatile wardrobe. The thing is, you don’t just need to know what to wear, but how its worn… We’ve broken down the skirt trends of the season, highlighting what they are and how they are mostly worn. You’re welcome!
The Midi Straight Skirt
This is probably the look that most accurately replaces the dependable pantsuit. A straight midi-skirt matched to a blouse, with a full length coat on top is one of the strongest trends this fall. How best to wear it is with high boots, either of the slouchy variety or the tighter stretchy kind.
The Floaty Midi Skirt
There are no surprises here.. this shape skirt has been trending for a number of seasons. The skirt could be pleated, asymmetrical or just full, they all work. The trick is to wear them with a soft item on top. A t-shirt, a sweater or just a soft blouse.
Skirt Over Pant
We love this look, especially when worn in the style of Peter Do The newer you are to this trend, the narrower your pant should be. Baby steps 😉
The Above The Knee Skirt
We haven’t seen this length for a while, and to be honest we’re not quite sure how we feel about it yet. The above the knee skirt surfaced on a number of runways, namely Louis Vuitton and Bottega Veneta. To be honest if the brands were less influential we would have disregarded the trend all together but, we’ve got to respect the wishes of Nicolas Ghesquiere and Daniel Lee!
