Two years after Apple launched its first smart watch, Louis Vuitton are following suit with their own. The watch, based on Louis Vuitton’s Tambour watch, is named Tambour Horizon. With three watch case styles on offer and 60 straps, there is plenty of choice. The starting price for the watch would be $2500 for the case and $300 for the strap.
As far as luxury market smart watches are concerned, Louis Vuitton will be sharing a platform with Bvlgari, Tag Heuer and Monteblanc. Louis Vuitton chairman and chief executive Michael Burke had this to say :
We don’t know where the industry of connected objects is going, but we know it’s going to be massive…You can either sit on the sidelines and observe, or you can dive in and be an actor.
