Anya Hindmarsh will be opening her 46th store worldwide in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The British brand, initially became famous in the nineties thanks to its personalized handbags which incorporated family photos. Anya Hindmarch’s next big bang was a sticker collection which literally took the world by storm, transforming fashion ideals from glamorous to school girl kitsch.
We are sure that Coco Chanel rolled in her grave when she saw the smiley face handbags being sold for over $1000.
The 1,346 square feet boutique at Riyadh’s Kingdom center is expected to open on Tuesday August 16th, 2016. In celebration of the launch, Anya has created a ‘yallah’ sticker specific to the Arab world which translates to ’let’s go’.
The Anya Hindmarch company is backed by Qatari investment firm Mayhoola who are behind the likes of Valentino and now Balmain. Anya Hindmarch has 150 wholesale accounts including Colette, Net-a-porter and Bergdorf Goodman.
