Streetwear style has become such a dominant feature during all those fashion weeks that it has literally infiltrated all aspects of fashion. Simply google streetwear and you will be bombarded with a trillion images that prove its dominance. Streetwear-based labels are becoming the trendier faces of fashion, as proven by the recent collaboration between streetwear giant Kith and Versace, which also features Bella Hadid as their new face.
A collaboration that is sure to sell out will feature over 100 pieces of stunning ready-to-wear fashion, footwear and accessories for both men and women. Combining the sportier silhouette of streetwear with the maximalist spirit of Versace will surely appeal to the masses. This collaboration will feature the unmistakable Versace prints in baggier silhouettes and plush materials. In the images released announcing the collaboration Bella is seen sporting a variety of outfits celebrating the marriage of streetstyle with haute couture. Wearing a spandex bodysuit underneath a quilted print-heavy long overcoat, or lounging in a burgundy velour tracksuit with Medusa’s head proudly ornamenting her neck and chest, Bella is the epitome of this mesmerising juxtaposition. Note the back heeled mules she rocks in the image below.
Medusa’s head print is prevalent throughout the collection, albeit this time it is redesigned for the first time ever to feature Kith’s box logo across Medusa’s eyes. The campaign’s moodboard alone is the stuff of dreams as it features the iconic supermodels of the 90s such as Naomi, Christy, and Claudia alongside late designer Gianni Versace. The collection will be produced in Italy of course, and it will be launched on February 15th in shops and online.
