New York Fashion Week is undoubtedly considered one of the most anticipated shows of the year. One of the most significant changes to occur over the years is the “see now buy now” feature which allows people to actually buy the collections immediately. Among the other significant issues to arise these last few years is the body positivity issue in addition to the sustainable fashion movement; will these still be evident now? 1 || Calvin Klein Is Out
With Raf Simmons leaving Calvin Klein last year after just three seasons with them, the house decided to skip New York Fashion Week this time. This is a BIG deal for NYFW as Calvin Klein’s show is one of the most anticipated shows and it’s usually a major event!
2 || Pierre Davis; First Transgender Designer To Show During NYFW
Considered a step forward for inclusivity, Pierre Davis will be the first transgender designer to debut a collection during NYFW. The LA-based designer showed her brand which is named No Sesso (No Sex in Italian); an agender brand launched in 2015. With a fan base that includes many A-listers, this brand’s whimsical designs are something to look forward to.

The Council of Fashion Designers of America recently released a long diversity report – 16 pages to be more accurate – as an ethical argument on diversity. This will most definitely translate into more diversity on the runways; thus we should expect to see more plus-size models as well as models of color this time.

No it’s not Cindy & Kaia! The celebrity in question this time is Christie Brinkley and daughter Sailor Lee Brinkley Cook. The pair are reportedly walking down the Elie Tahari show together.

Prabal Gurung is one of the most anticipated shows to watch out for. With their gorgeous colors and prints this is one brand than can be worn old and new and regardless of the season. Combining wearability with edginess; Veronica Beard is another designer duo that never disappoint. And Rebecca Minkoff will always be a good idea, new pieces and old.
