1 || Kate Spade’s First Runway Show

NYFW - Kate Spade’s

Just to clarify that Kate Spade didn’t own Kate Spade at the end. The NY-based designer that took her own life on June 5th 2018 had sold the company a few years back. That said, the company co-founded by Spade herself is debuting its first runway collection, staged at the New York Public Library, under the helm of creative director Nicola Glass.

3 || Nowhere to Be Seen || Victoria Beckham and Alexander Wang

NYFW - Victoria Beckham and Alexander Wang

Victoria Beckham has shown at NYFW for as long as we can remember. Well the designer has gone home to celebrate the brand’s 10 year anniversary in London. Stay tuned for her show at LFW,. As for Alexander Wang, he has dropped off the official fashion week schedule in favor of an experimental new schedule which sees Spring collections debuting three months earlier in June. Time will tell if this will be a successful formula for the former Balenciaga designer.

4 || New York Guests || Vivienne Westwood and Longchamps

NYFW - Vivienne Westwood and Longchamps

Earlier in the year Italian brand Bottega Veneta showed their Fall 2018 collection in NY, in celebration of their newly furbished Madison Avenue store. Well Longchamps has plenty to celebrate this year, 70 years to be exact in addition to a new boutique. Their Spring 2019 show will be staged in NY this season. Did you know that Kendall Jenner is the new face of Longchamps? Parisians will also celebrate with the brand, they are planning a French fête as well.

Vivienne Westwood will also be showing at NYFW, a presentation as opposed to a runway, and only open to buyers. You wonder why she crossed the pond just for that…

5 || Rihanna

NYFW - Rihanna

Rihanna’s inclusive lingerie brand Savage x Fenty will be celebrating with what has been described as an immersive experience.. Leave it to Rihanna and her team to dream up something OTT. Do you remember her blazing into her Spring 2019 fashion show on a motorbike? Indoors we mean;)

6 || Tommy Hilfiger

Yes Tommy Hilfiger is American, no he won’t be at NYFW. In the past few years the Tommy Hilifger brand has opted for a more international approach to fashion. Traveling the world, one season at a time, bringing the Hilfiger extravaganza experience to cities such as London, Milan and most recently Shanghai.

7 || Ralph Lauren

NYFW - Ralph Lauren

The iconic American brand is celebrating 50 years in the business although truth be told, Ralph himself doesn’t look a day over 60! The luxury label will celebrate in style with an evening fête in Central Park which is sure to be one of the major highlights of NYFW.

8 || Carolina Herrera

NYFW - Carolina Herrera

Last season, Carolina Herrera stepped down as creative director of her eponymous brand. She remains on the board. In her shoes falls Wes Gordon and what shoes to fill we say…. Gordon’s NYFW debut will be heavily anticipated. Can he do for Carolina Herrera what Monse Maison duo Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia have done for Oscar de la Renta?
