Artificial intelligence A.I. is becoming more familiar by the day. It was only a matter of time we suppose till social media influencers became artificial as well. Enter Noonoouri, a character created by artistic director of global design and branding agency Opium, Joerg Zuber on February 1, 2018.
Cartoon characters are nothing new and have been capturing our hearts especially those of the Japanese population for decades. The improvements in technology however have made characters more human-like in their movement and more importantly behavior. The designer Joerg Zuber self-describes his work as digital haute couture and when we see the details of Noonoouri it is hard to argue his point. Noonoouri, a star is truly born, the first A.I. fashion influencer, move over Chiara Ferragni.
One of the most appealing elements of Noonoouri is how fashionally current she is, making her always relevant. As the fashion mob prepared to leave NYFW in February Noonoouri was also leaving. The image of Noonoouri in a yellow cab, bidding rainy NYC farewell making her evermore intriguing.
Another interesting point about this character is the potential for brand advertisement.A quick glance through Noonoouri’s page highlights this clearly with images of Noonoouri sporting outfits by Versace, Louis Vuitton and even Supreme.
Over the past few months Carine Roitfeld has drawn special attention to the character, even launching a short video via IG.Always a disruptor in the field of fashion (remember that she single-handedly launched the careers of Tom Ford and veiled model Halima Aden), Carine’s support of this project can only mean that something huge is coming…Watch out world.
