Founded in 2014, Marianna Senchina is a Milan-based Ukrainian fashion designer with a knack for colour and experimental craftsmanship. Senchina’s garments are an amalgamation of bold yet flouncy feminine fun and dynamic unisex silhouettes.
Having taken part in The Next Talents project and being selected in the 10 best emerging designers by Vogue Italia, receiving the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Prize Award after being named best designer back in 2016 and several successful publication features, Marianna has gained ample praise and recognition yet should deservedly be widespread and valued even more in our opinion.
Loved by celebrities alike including Rihanna, Dua Lipa , pieces from Marianna’s collections have almost always been mentioned in fashion week street-style reports and rundowns of upcoming designers to look out for. With just a glimpse at her look-books and you will find Senchina’s aesthetic to consistently carry an element of exaggerated Victorian flare, most notably in her signature puffed poet sleeves. Her ruffled flamenco frocks and plunging décolletage are also prominent across all of her collections. Senchina’s style is a timely departure away from the traditional East European fashion that has pervaded runways with its dark gothic ‘90s aesthetic of the post-Soviet era. Senchina herself described her eponymous line as “Clothing for the modern Cinderella.”
