Three Gorgeous Women

The annual Harper’s Bazaar Women of the Year Awards ceremony took place last night at the Claridges hotel in London. Amongst the winners were Donatella Versace for Fashion Icon of the year, Emma Watson for Inspirational Woman of the year, Keira Knightley as Theatre Icon of the year and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley as Business Woman of the year.

Donatella Versace

What would you wear if you were invited to receive your prestigious accolade… Donatella Versace chose a navy embroidered ensemble from her own collection. What was pronounced however was its subtlety. Not know for her minimalism, Donatella looked both age appropriate and trés chic in her choice.

What we found particularly interesting were the choices of Keira Knightley, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Emma Watson. Women all close in age chose very different directions for their look of the evening.

Keira was not trying too hard and opted for an Erdem emerald green tulle, ruched, full-length evening dress. What appears quite simple in the front, is in fact quite playful in the back. A pretty keyhole detail and ribbon that added character to her simple yet sophisticated look.

Emma Watson

Emma Watson, who is perhaps best known for her level-headedness, decided to give the fashion world a run for their money. Her elaborate and overly fashionable dress was stunning on her, yet out of character. Not always a bad thing…Perhaps she was telling us, ‘hey, I can do fashionable when I feel like it’.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley surprised us with her choice of outfit. Dressed in an overly Eighties, overly theatrical ensemble that would have fared better had it not been Halloween !! Her Saint Laurent asymmetrical print top and black cigarette pants, not to mention her single tassel earring were very ‘cool’ indeed. Perhaps a little too on trend for her Business Woman of the year award. It would have actually been the perfect opportunity to present herself as a serious woman. Or maybe she is saying, ‘hey I am Business Woman of the year, I can be whoever I want to be…’
