If one thing is for certain then it is that the beauty industry has clearly surpassed any other industry including the entertainment industry. Why would the likes of Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez, and Victoria Beckham embark on launching beauty brands if it weren’t such a lucrative business. Add to the names above another star in the beauty world, Huda Beauty, and we’ve got ourselves a whole lot of new beauty launches to look forward to in the upcoming year!
Lopez announced last week that she’s working on her own skincare line which she has been preparing for some time now and I quote “I don’t want to put just anything out” she said. Lopez reportedly made the announcement during one of the promotional events for her new film Second Act.
I want it to be something that encompasses all the things I’ve learned and all the secrets I have. And it doesn’t have anything to do with needles.” Lopez explains.
Earlier this year, Lopez launched a 70-item beauty line in collaboration with Inglot Cosmetics that was sold out within days of its launch. No details about the exact products that will be included in Lopez skincare line but we expect it will include the usual suspects in addition to glow-inducing products obviously. At the end of the day, over-achiever Lopez wouldn’t add her name to just about anything. The line will launch late 2019 and we obviously can’t wait!
Another super-achiever to announce the launch of a skincare line and which should come as no surprise is Huda Kattan. Huda made the announcement during a recent interview, and she explained that the skincare line will be independent of Huda Beauty and its brand identity which is why the project is somewhat challenging. Huda recently launched a line of glitter lipsticks just in time for New Year’s, as well as launching a new innovative product in the form of a double-ended melted eye shadow stick. She also launched a new line of perfumes called Kayali with her sister Mona. Huda didn’t reveal much about the skincare line but knowing the massive hit she made with her makeup line, we expect her new skincare line to launch with a bang.
Yes that’s right! Lady Gaga is among the largest celebs to join the beauty ranks. Gaga lodged a trademark for a cosmetics company earlier this year under the name of Haus Beauty. The line is expected to include makeup as well as skincare and perfumes, yet not many details have emerged. Lady Gaga has previously launched lipstick shades with MAC Cosmetic in 2009 and 2010, so this won’t be a very new thing for her.
Another multi-hyphenate celebrity to embark on a skincare line as well is good ol’ Posh Spice. Earlier this year Beckham announced that she’s working on her own skincare line and a perfume. “As a woman, I want to make the things I need in my life, the things that are missing.” VB explains. Beckham have previously partnered with Estée Lauder in 2016 on a sold-out line that included bronzing powders, glow-inducing primers, and smokey grey shades, the same was relaunched and sold-out again in 2017.
Beckham has been clearly keeping quite busy as she also recently launched a new YouTube channel with beauty tutorials and styling tips…perhaps in preparation for the launch of her new skincare line.
