3 || Best Moment in Emmy History
If you are watching the Emmys live, you were probably about to take your bathroom break at the mere mention of Directors perhaps? Well if you did you may as well have missed the best moment in Emmy history to date. Director Glen Weiss took the stage to accept an award for Directing A Variety Special, and after ratting off a string of thank yous he addressed his girlfriend mentioning how his mother who passed away two weeks earlier loved her dearly … and then he shocked everyone when he proposed on live TV in front of a worldwide audience….Glen asked girlfriend Janto onto the stage and produced his late mother’s ring while the whole A-list crowd was giving them a standing ovation.
4 || Matthew Rhys of The Americans
Lead Actor in a Drama Series award went to The Americans’ star Matthew Rhys and he was presented his award by the fab five Queer Eye. However, unlike Glen Weiss, Rhys paid a special thank you to his co-star and real life partner Keri Russell and then added that she told him the following “If you propose to me, I will punch you clean in the mouth” ….too bad… I am so in love with those two!

The award obviously went to Game of Thrones …no surprises there but it is definitely one of the highlights of the evening…

Supporting Actor in A Comedy Series Award went to Henry Winkler for Barry, and at the end of his speech he told his children that they can go to bed now!!

The comedy show that was made by the creators of the Gilmore Girls made a clean sweep of all awards when it finally won Outstanding Comedy Series.
9 || “Don’t Lie”
When Jeff Daniels took the stage to accept the Supporting Actor in A Limited Series or a Movie …he thanked his horse on the show which was called Wrangler and added a piece of advice to young actors…”When they call you up and ask if you can ride a horse – don’t lie.”
10 || The Audience Got Freaked..
When ‘Atlanta’s’ creepy character Teddy Perkins showed up amongst the audience, people immediately assumed it was star and director Donald Glover who is better known as Childish Gambino who showed up wearing the scary ‘whiteface’ guise. Teddy Perkins is inspired by Michael Jackson in terms of the whiteface and the fallen star aspects. Yet, upon closer inspection turns out Glover was already in the audience so who WAS that guy in disguise…..
