It seems that Meghan Markle will follow the legacy of Princess Diana’s charity work by making secret visits to those in need or to comfort survivors as in the case of the victims and survivors of the Grenfell Tower. The Grenfell Tower fire broke out on 14 June 2017 at the 24-floor public housing tower block in North Kensington. The fire caused 71 deaths and well over 70 injuries, and 223 people managed to escape.
Markle’s visits have meant a lot to the victims and survivors and on one of her visits she went to Al Manaar community mosque in West London which is close to the actual site of the fire. Markle went by herself, escorted only by royal security and an aide. The Queen also went to visit the people sheltered at the mosque as well as Prince Harry and the Duke of Cambridge.
A royal source mentioned that Markle has been studying the charity sector and she has been making regular private visits to various organisations. Princess Diana was known to visit children’s and cancer charities as well as showing her support to HIV and AIDS sufferers and victims of landmines.
