Brace yourselves. In addition to her Netflix documentary, Homecoming: A Film by Beyoncé dropping April 17th, and voicing the role of Nala in The Lion King (2019), Queen Bey is also collaborating with Adidas on a “partnership of a lifetime”, new footwear and apparel (and album) is en route! Mrs. Carter has announced the collaboration in addition to relaunching her Ivy Park athleisure line, relocating from Topshop to Adidas. She states “This is the partnership of a lifetime for me. Adidas has had tremendous success in pushing creative boundaries. We share a philosophy that puts creativity, growth and social responsibility at the forefront of business. I look forward to relaunching and expanding Ivy Park on a truly global scale with a proven, dynamic leader”.
Adidas executive board member Eric Liedtke shared a statement welcoming Beyoncé to the roster, saying “As the creator sports brand, Adidas challenges the status quo and pushes the limits of creativity through its open source approach. Beyoncé is an iconic creator but also a proven business leader, and together, we have the ability to inspire change and empower the next generation of creators.”
Regarding the much anticipated documentary, the trailer teases behind the scenes footage of Bey during the icon’s legendary headlining Coachella performance and candid glimpses of her and her family (including adorable one-year-old twins Sir & Rumi). Netflix accompanied the trailer on Twitter with the caption “An in-depth look at Beyoncé’s celebrated 2018 Coachella performance from creative concept to cultural movement.. Interspersed with candid footage and interviews detailing the preparation and powerful intent behind her vision.”
