Left, the matchmaker behind the adored royal lovebirds
An exclusive excerpt from Nicholl’s book in Marie Claire uncovers exactly how and where the Duke and Duchess met. The author also covers their move to Frogmore, what their household split actually means, how they’ll raise baby Sussex and their next chapter. This will be Nicholl’s sixth book reporting on the ‘Fab Four’, William, Kate, Harry and Meghan. In an exclusive interview with Marie Claire Nicholl discusses how she managed to write Harry and Meghan in real time during their whirlwind romance as she began chronicling while their love story was blossoming. “I wanted it to be essentially about his life, the loss he suffered with his mother, and the love he’s had. I chronicle all of the major love affairs in the book, including Davy] and [Bonas]. I give Meghan very ample treatment because, of course, she turned out to be the most important one of all.”
In an interview with Parade, Nicholl was asked if she had noticed a shift in the royal family dynamic since Harry and Meghan’s wedding and the baby news, she replies “They are the new superstars of the royal family. Meghan has catapulted the royals into the 21st century. She has ruffled some feathers, sure, but I think she’s a great asset. She’s a hard worker, she has really thrown herself in at the deep end, and you can see she’s mad about Harry and she makes him happy. There has been so much hype about this baby, and I think that even though he or she will be seventh in line to the throne and therefore not constitutionally as important as other royal babies, there is going to be a lot of interest in this little royal, largely because of the global fascination in Meghan and Harry.”
