Gwyneth Paltrow’s Secrets To Looking 10 Years Younger

When Gwyneth Paltrow; the founder of Goop speaks, we take notes… The 48 actress’s no makeup selfies are no joke. She follows a very strict skincare routine that allows her to keep makeup only for shoots or big events. Her ageless skin is just admirable, so we did a little bit of research to know what she does exactly to look at least 10 years younger.

1 || She Exfoliates Daily

Exfoliation is an important step of any beauty routine for it helps buff away dead, dull skin cells to reveal a glowing, smoother-looking complexion. Gwyneth Paltrow exfoliates her skin daily with her Goop Exfoliating Instant Facial Mask that contains chemical exfoliants, like alpha and beta hydroxy acids, and soothing vitamin B5.

“I put it on every single day, although the tube says to do it three times a week,” she told Vogue. “It’s my secret to young, fresh looking skin.” She waits until it starts to “tingle” (in a good way) before wiping it off with a hot cotton washcloth.

2 || Hydration, Hydration, And Once Again Hydration

Serums that hydrate and target fine lines are everywhere but Gwyneth’s favorite is Vintner’s Daughter Botanical-Based Serum. She uses it after exfoliating her skin;

“I love to use Vintner’s Daughter. My skin tends to be on the drier side, but this isn’t just a regular oil-based serum; it’s a full-on treatment. April, the woman who makes it, packed it full of fantastic things—whatever they are, they really work on my skin. I love it.”

For deeper hydration, she uses a night moisturizing cream during the day. She swears by her own Goop Beauty GOOPGENES All-in-One Nourishing Face Cream which claims to improve firmness, elasticity, glow, the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and brightness after just four weeks.

“I got this trick from my mom: using night cream during the day. We both have dry skin. This cream is that nourishing—I can use it night and day and my skin keeps reaping the benefits. It leaves my skin so soft that I just keep touching it all day.” Paltrow reveals.

3 || She Won’t Go A Day Without Sunscreen

The actress wears a mineral-based sunscreen every single day of the year after her daily moisturizer. Sunscreen helps prevent and even reverse signs of premature aging by reducing dark spots, improving texture and evening skin tone.

Paltrow is a fan of  Coola’s face sunscreens, as well as Drunk Elephant’s Umbra Sheer Physical Daily Defense SPF 30.

4 || For Her: Beauty Begins From Within

Gwyneth Paltrow appreciates beauty from the inside out. So she makes sure to start her day with her antioxidants and vitamins.

To wake up her skin she uses goop Beauty GOOPGLOW Morning Skin Superpowder“At goop, we approach skincare—especially glow—from the inside out. This antioxidant skin super powder wakes up my skin—and it tastes so fresh and citrusy.” The actress says.

And of course, she doesn’t skip her wellness vitamins goop Wellness Madame Ovary which is great to support thyroid health and help smooth the menopausal transition by providing nutritional support for women who may experience mild hot flashes, mood shifts, and stress-related fatigue. Paltrow says: “We made a new vitamin protocol for perimenopausal, menopausal, and postmenopausal women, and I love it! I like to take my vitamins—they come in easy packets—with my GOOPGLOW in the morning.”

5 || She Doesn’t Forget About The Rest Of Her Body

Her belief in exfoliation does not stop at her face. The 48 years old actress uses a dry brush to sweep away dead skin cells and boost circulation in her body before showering. And once Once she’s in the shower, she goes for the second round of exfoliation with her brand’s 5 Salt Detox Body Scrub. “It has beautiful oils and all kinds of salts. It just leaves your skin feeling so smooth and having a beautiful glow,” she says. Then, she seals in some moisture with body butter.

6 || She’s A Strong Believer Of Spot Treatments

One of Paltrow’s spot treatments favorite is zit zapper “I always just use the same pimple thing from the facialist in New York I’ve had forever—that chalky Mario Badescu,” she told Byrdie. “I guess you could put toothpaste if it’s an emergency, but then they say that it can, like, eat through your skin and not to do it. Yeah, Mario Badescu is the best one.”

7 || Eye Creams Are A Must

The skin around the eyes is very gentle so it shows signs of aging faster than the rest of the face, therefore it calls for extra care.

Paltrow uses Dr. Barbara Sturm’s Eye Cream, which is formulated to smooth out fine lines and wrinkles, reduce puffiness, and brighten dark circles. She says; “apply the cream by gently dabbing it on the sensitive areas under the eye.”

And if she’s traveling, she’ll treat herself to an eye mask. “and if I’m on a really long flight I’ll put Juice Beauty makes an algae face mask on while I’m watching a movie,” she told Elle. “It’s really brilliant, made with organic ingredients, and very hydrating.”
