Gwyneth Paltrow finally takes a leap of faith and decides to come back to the small screen in a new Netflix Original series called The Politician. The actress-turned-businesswoman, and Goop’s founder announced on her Instagram account that she will be joining the star-studded series but only after admitting that it was because of her new husband, Brad Falchuk. What about her new husband? Well Brad Falchuk happens to be the co-creator of the show and it was him who was able to convince her.
The Politician will start on Netflix on September 27th, which happens to be the actress’s birthday. The Politician follows the story of Payton Hobart (played by Ben Platt), a wealthy student from Santa Barbara with huge political aspirations …..simply to become the next president. Paltrow will have a major starring role in the series alongside Zoey Deutch, Laura Dreyfuss, and Rahne Jones among others.
The show will also feature some Hollywood A-listers such as Bette Midler, Jessica Lange, and Bohemian Rhapsody’s Lucy Boynton. The show was written by Ryan Murphy, the genius behind Glee and American Horror Story. The dark comedy will promise to be one of Netflix’s binge-watch shows especially with its near-perfect timing at the end of summer.
