Meghan Markle is walking steadily on the right path! During her first official appearance at yesterday’s inaugural Royal Foundation Forum, Markle was the perfect addition to the royal trio. “Making A Difference Together” event was the perfect opportunity for Markle to let her true colors shine as she spoke eloquently and passionately about women empowerment. Despite the fact that she may be accused of breaking royal protocol but she couldn’t stop herself from showing her support for initiatives such as Time’s Up and #MeToo.
Women don’t need to ‘find’ a voice. They have a voice. They need to feel empowered to use it – and people need to be encouraged to listen.” Markle said.
Some believe that it is a huge deal when a future royal takes a stand against the very industry that she belonged to. Whereas Kate was unable to wear black to the BAFTAS for fear of breaking royal protocol, some believe that since Markle still has a couple more months before she is a formal royal, she can take over the responsibility of easing the establishment into some changes that are highly due.
But one should give proper credit where it is due; Princes William and Harry have always been inspired by Princess Diana’s commitment to change. She always encouraged her children to challenge the norms and to reach out in any way they can, and it seems Markle is here to continue this tradition. “I am personally incredibly proud and excited that my soon-to-be-wife who is equally passionate about making positive change in the world will soon be joining us with this work,” Prince Harry told the audience.
