The term ‘yoga skin’ has crept around lately and knowing us we couldn’t help but investigate! Just like you would expect, the term implies healthy luminous skin that radiates inner peace….not immediately after class, perhaps a few hours later! Though we cannot guarantee the inner peace part just yet, but we can help you achieve that radiant look with the use of a few simple makeup products and techniques. So how do we go about achieving yoga skin? Follow the steps below for a makeup look that will give you the most glowing skin you’ve ever met.
1 || Cleansing
Cleanse and prep your skin as you would normally do. Allow enough time for each skincare product to get fully absorbed before moving on to the next product.
2 || Primer
Apply a silicone-free primer after your previous skincare products have fully sunk in. Applying primer is a crucial step as it provides the needed canvas that will handle the step below.
3 || The Cocktail
No it’s not time for drinks just yet! The cocktail we’re discussing here is a mixture of products that is key to creating this makeup look. On your hand mix, 3-4 pumps of a water-based sheer to medium foundation, one drop of face oil, one drop of a golden liquid highlighter, and a tiny amount of glow drops (optional). Mix them all together and apply.
4 || Application
Apply the cocktail above using your finger tips, and this is where the yoga part takes hold. Use this mixture to sort of massage your face to relax, de-puff, and to get the circulation flowing.
5 || Layer It
This look benefits best from layering. Apply as many layers as you are comfortable with, till you achieve the level of coverage that you seek. It’s very important to allow time between layers so that the added layers won’t weigh down the look.
6 || Concealer
Apply some liquid concealer but only in the areas that you feel are desperate for some coverage such as the under eyes, around the nose and on blemishes.
7 || Cream Everything
This look is a very luminous look and no powder should be used if you can manage it. Apply cream blush and bronzer if needed. If you need to set the look with a light dusting of powder then do it but with absolutely no baking, using a small fluffy brush. Also refrain from using any alcohol-based setting sprays with this look.
8 || Eyes & Lips
The great thing about this look is that you can pair it with minimal eye and lip makeup and it also works with more intense looks. Strong brows, a dash of mascara with a nude lip or some gloss would look great. You can also easily pair it with a strong red lip and mascara for a more dramatic take on this look.
