You’ve probably seen recent photos of Bella Hadid and if anything you’ve probably wondered about her recent increased levels of gorgeousness. We cannot vouch on the lack of beautify procedures but what we can attest to is the expertise of her makeup artist Mary Phillips. Also the makeup artist for Kendall Jenner and the gang, and Chrissy Teigen among others, Mary Phillips was inspired by her lifelong passion for art and painting and an intrinsic love of makeup inspired by her mother’s makeup drawer. Read below for some of Phillips’s tips and tricks that she uses on her celebrity clientele as well as on herself.
1 || Mary’s Skincare Routine
A devout follower of La Mer’s line; Mary’s day follows a traditional routine between cleansing and moisturising. She starts off with La Mer’s cleansing foam followed by a spritz of their mist. She moisturises with their Crème de la Mer and uses The Eye Concentrate that targets dark circles and fine lines. She finishes off with The Reparative SkinTint 30 that gives off a beautiful sheer glow.
2 || Makeup Products Mary’s Loving Right Now
Mary’s a fan of the KKW Beauty Creme Lipsticks due to their ultra rich formulas and their many choices of cool and warm shades. As for eyeshadows, Mary believes in Tom Ford’s Eyeshadow; she probably has every color on their system. She’s also a firm believer of Armani’s Eyes to Kill Mascara; this mascara is easily buildable, is long-lasting, and is wonderful for volume as well as lash definition. During the holiday season she was a big fan of Lemonhead LA Space Paste Metallic Glitter.
3 || How To Save Your Skin
Phillips swears by the Slip silk pillow cases; they reduce friction of the skin and thus delay the appearance of sleep-caused fine lines, and they also help with product absorption. She also regularly undergoes micro-needling sessions to help with pigmentation and scarring, and to improve the skin’s texture and volume.
4 || Her Signature Makeup Look
Mary believes in dewy, glowing complexions sporting a monochromatic look. She believes that a person has to remain recognisable and the makeup has to only complement the person.
5 || Most & Least Favourite Makeup Looks
Mary loves the brightly-colored eyeliners; they make a statement without overpowering your looks. On the other hand, she hates to see makeup that’s overdone and very powdery.
