Approaching year’s end, of the most anticipated announcements is the Pantone Color of the Year. As soon as the shade is announced, I would immediately start mentally scanning my closets and makeup shelves for signs of the color! This year’s chosen color is Living Coral which is this marvellous combination of salmon, pink, orange and gold mixed together to form a color that softly and gently energises and is perfect for clothing, accessories, makeup and home decor.
Living Coral is probably one of the most versatile Pantone colors to date; usually a summer staple, we can now expect to see it seep into the rest of the seasons this coming year. Generally speaking you are most likely already wearing this color on your face as it is one of those colors that works on just about everyone. According to color consultants; this shade neutralises the skin’s undertones and warms up any complexion. Pantone’s official beauty partners Butter London have created three nail polishes in celebration of the shade. Butter London’s team were told of the color six months in advance and they were able to make great use of the time to create luscious nail polish colors, a lip gloss, and a blush stick that can be used everywhere.
So whether or not other brands were notified of the Pantone Color of The Year ahead of time we will have to investigate meanwhile we know that Marc Jacobs debuted a coral outfit as part of their spring 2019 collection.
Meanwhile if your wardrobe lacks this coral shade then it could be difficult to just suddenly start collecting items and hoping to fit them into your closet; you could however start incorporating it via makeup, accessories that elevate your outfits, and home decor pieces for that exciting pop of color that will be so on trend in the coming months.
