You are probably aware of brow microblading already. A semi-permanent tattoo technique used to fill in brows. The cosmetic pigments are embedded in the dermis of the skin, which means it will last around 6 months. Permanent tattoos are traditionally deposited below the dermis and are also much more painful.
Scalp camouflaging is the same technique as brow microblading but for… you guessed it, the scalp. For those ladies (and men) out there that feel that their head isn’t fully covered due to hair loss or a general weakness in their hair, may opt for this procedure. The procedure is available in Jordan at Eliana Beauty Center.
The idea is to re-create the look of natural hair by adding strokes of color onto the scalp in the same color as one’s natural hair. This replicates the appearance of real hair and conceals any thinning areas on the scalp. For most women, the areas where camouflaging is most effective are the temples, a hair part that has started to bald, or the entire hairline from ear-to-ear.
If you are wondering about the pain factor, it is manageable. After all the surface of the scalp is not as sensitive as other areas, say the lips where semi-permanent tattooing is also used. If you are wondering about whether or not the actual hair follicles are affected by the camouflaging, then the answer is no. Just a reminder that the camouflaging by nature is used in areas that have a weakness, so many of the follicles in that area are already inactive.
Not convinced.. you can always start out using hair fibres to cover problem areas of your scalp. These fibres come in a bottle, not dissimilar to a salt and pepper shaker. The fibres are then deposited onto the scalp, like you’re salting or peppering your food 😉
