Approaching the last days of summer means the unfortunate fading of your oh-so-precious tan. We know you’ve worked extremely hard to achieve that healthy glow but sadly we all know that once we’re back to our daytime routines and once the sun starts playing hide and seek, then it’s back to winter pallor in no time… or is it?? Is it possible to buy time and keep your tan for longer? Some say it is …let’s find out how…
1 || Cold Showers
Lower that temperature and learn to tolerate cold showers since hot water will dehydrate the skin and cause faster fading of your tan.
2 || Shower Oils
Oils oils oils….. You must use a moisturising shower oil to sustain your colour. Just slather the oil during your shower, massage it in a little, rinse off and voilà…..I love Amina’s Skin Care Chamomile Shower Oil.
3 || Lotions
If you’re not a shower oil kind of person then you will need to up your moisturising game a notch. Upgrade your daily moisturiser to a body butter and lather it on everyday.

4 || Self Tan
Yes it is time to start enhancing your tan by yourself….self-tanners are the key. I personally have ditched sitting in the sun altogether and rely on these all summer long. St. Tropez In Shower Gradual Tan is an award-winning favourite. Just slather on during your shower, wait for 3 minutes and rinse off. My personal favourite is the St. Tropez Tanning Body Lotion, it is such a long lasting and natural looking tan as can come from a tube… Contact us for orders.
5 || Exfoliate
Though it may seem like this is the last thing to do right now, but if you have decided to extend the lifetime of your tan by using self tanning creams then gentle exfoliation is a must to achieve uniform color.

6 || Avoid Waxing
You may want to avoid waxing for the time being as waxing tends to be quite tough and it actually pulls off a whole layer of the skin and with it your hard-earned tan.
7 || Beta-Carotenes
Yes it was not a childhood myth that eating carrots will tint your skin with that orangey pigment. Studies show that you can achieve that sun-kissed glow from within if your diet is rich in beta-carotenes. So what does this mean? Increase your intake of carrots, mangoes, apricots and sweet potatoes,,, especially carrots.
8 || Drink Lots of Water
Keep drinking water just so you can stay well hydrated from within and those tanned skin cells can stay supple and smooth.
9 || Use Bronzers Strategically
To fake that sun-kissed healthy glow use a darker bronzer on the areas of the face that the sun hits the most; forehead, temples, cheekbones, and nose. Use a lighter coloured bronzer for the rest of your face.
10 || Wear White
To show off your tan or what remains of it, emphasise it by wearing white. Add bronzer, and a bold red lip and it’ll feel as good as the beach.
