Always getting inspiration from Hollywood is never a bad thing. Celebrity hairstyles have always been the standard to follow throughout time; some hairstyles have even been named after certain actresses or, better yet, certain roles…. no one can forget the Rachel! However, Hollywood updos are an entirely different story. Whenever a major red-carpet event looms close; celebrity hairstylists would compete amongst themselves to land the most coveted updo of the night. Despite the growing laid back trend of recent years, there’s nothing like an updo to carry you though the night. Should you have a major event coming up, look below for inspiration with some fabulous celebrity-inspired updos.
1 || Messy
A messy rock-n-roll kinda chic. This updo works best with a thicker head of hair. It is also a great option for curly hair. Hair clips or a hair band would look great with it.
2 || Back-Knots
The back-knot is probably a fancier take on the age-old French braid. To copy this look you need to create four mini buns alongside the back of your head for a look that is both romantic yet structural and hip enough.
3 || New Side Braid
Jennifer Lawrence rocked this cool updo when she was promoting The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2. Perfect for short hair, the hairstylist even weaved a yard necklace into the braids before securing the hair back.
4 || Crown Fishtail
Shay Mitchell’s hairdo was a big statement when she wore it and it would grant you extra points for being much. A pulled-apart fishtail double crown braid can work day or night …if you have enough time for implementation that is!
5 || Windswept
Lucy Hale’s windswept updo is just on the right side of romantic with a velvet ribbon in place.
6 || Jewelled Chignon
Blake Lively can do no wrong what with this messy chignon that is boasting a thin headband worn upside down with its jewelry at the back of the head.
7 || The Side Twist
Scarlett Johansson’s side twist is anything but boring.
8 || Jewelled Side Bun
Take your inspiration from the 1920’s with this glitzy side bun.
9 || Windblown Updo
This is perhaps my personal favourite, but this windblown updo is both sophisticated yet still edgy for any night out.
